Alkin, you really need to sit back and rethink things So much energy is wasted of negative thoughts. This is an ongoing investigation and your post is negative and un-warrated. These people are gonig through hell and I don't know if you know them but by your post I would say you don't

I am betting that there will a bill for the flight, there is for abulance trips. So, it may not be tax dollars paying afterall.
No offense, but I have to chuckle when people are indignant about "not being informed" over every thing that happens. There are things that need not be public information, this could be a personal family thing and as some would say NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. But, if everything needs to be reported, I had salmon for dinner.

I'm sorry to say but she will receive a hefty bill for that flight. Last I heard it was about $12,000 for the County to fly a trauma patient. And you do not know that she was a crime victim. None of us know that. That is why there is an investigation.

It can cost anywhere from $12,000 to $25,000 for a trauma flight.

I hope she gets better, and that this wasn't a CRIME....
We have plenty of that to go around.

Excuse me - but to be blunt - maybe she shot herself. also, a person's medical issues should be confidential.

Would anybody on this forum like their own personal medical records made public and then sit back and read all the speculation from people who know nothing about the facts but draw their own conclusions anyway? Somehow I don't think so.
It is totally natural to wonder how someone is doing, I do myself, but no one has the right to see the medical records. It is one of the few private things we have left in today's world.
As far as ambulance and flights, if a person has insurance some of that is taken care of, how much depends on the individual's policy. If the County doesn't get paid, either by insurance or the individual The county "eats" the rest, which may affect the budget at the end of the year and possibly contribute to budget shortfalls as it is difficult to estimate the amount of money to put aside as accidents of all types are unpredictable.

The county does not eat the ambulance bills. If they do, please let me know how to get assistance.
