Default Brighthouse vs. AT&T

We currently have AT&T for our landline & internet. Our cable is through Brighthouse. Considering changing our internet to Brighthouse.

Would love to hear input on this. What have your experiences been with internet from Brighthouse??? Is it better/faster than AT&T??? What about their landline phone service??? Heard many past horror stories regarding such. What plan do you have?? Monthly cost???

Thanks in advance.

After years of having AT&T for Internet we decided to try Brighthouse and have internet, phone and cable through them...after about 4 months I went back to using AT&T for Internet and phone..we would loose our phone and Internet often with Brighthouse...I didn't like that..at least with AT&T I don't have to worry about outages like I did with Brighthouse...I use Brighthouse just for cable.

I have Brighthouse Internet and phone, lost them 2 times in 3 years for a couple of hours each time. Have no problem with the voice quality and Internet speeds are fine. If you call and ask for the phone number of a Brighthouse Direct Sales person, they can get you Cable with 1 DVR (HD or regular), 7 MB Internet, & US phone for I believe $109.99 per month for the first year with free install and free first month.

When storms have knocked out brighthouse cable you loose it all.

During the 2004 hurricanes my at&t stayed up and running while folks who had brighthouse lost everything.

ahhh..I didn't even know that happened BP..another reason I am glad I went back to AT&T...a phone is something I don't like to loose...I have a cell but don't give that number out since I only turn it on when I go out and the kids need me for something..I depend more on the landline.

Thanks so much for everyone's responses. I guess we might as well STAY with AT&T.

I have had Brighthouse for almost 5 years; phone, internet, and cable. I can count on one hand the number of times that it has been out. I highly recommend Brighthouse. Possibly, it depends on what part of town that you live in and if there is construction in the area. I live in the E section.

Stay with At&T for your internet. We lose our Brighthouse internet more times than I can count, so many that I have their number saved on my cell.

It must be the area that some of you are in. I have Brighthouse for all 3 as well. I work out of my home and need the computer to work. Never a problem except for a couple of times in severe storms in the summer. Have had it for 3 1/2 years now

Went to AT&T U-Verse and love it, had one problem and the customer service was excellent. I have phone, internet and tv together and it has saved me about $100. a month. Yea.

AT&T U-verse is superior than Brighthouse cable, you get a lot more bang for your buck and the DVR capabilities surpass that of BrightHouse as well. But, as far as the internet goes Brighthouse is going to be for the most part faster but AT&T will have better upload speeds.

Just a note land lines are generally more dependable in emergencies than cell phones.
