I can believe that, but I could not resist Andy! I do know that you do listen to parents first. I guess you cannot be all things to all people, none of us can expect that, except for Justin Beiber maybe?

I just sent a snarky "thank you note" to School Board Member Fischer for getting this ball rolling on school uniforms to his house, the kids all signed it. My twelve year old said he's a "marked man" for his "contribution" to the kids he allegedly adores in Flagler County. He adopted some advice from the movie Animal House I often play in the living room entertainment system... I think I need to have a chat with him... jeesh.

Like it or not, the policy adopted in Flagler is legal, and will withstand legal challenges based on prior legal cases and precedent.
psst--------I think many parents of kids in school DO NOT LIKE IT ANDY! (I would hope they might just use their votes to address their likes or dislikes to people who are on the School Board in elections---and that is the American way!)

My Son has a closet full of Black Polyestar, elastic waist shorts. If we are going with the Q&A, in my opinion they are shorts. Not basketball sorts, not Gym shorts, not athletic shorts. They are just shorts like the policy states. He will go to school in them and if they tell me he can not wear them I will plead hardship and ask the school to provide me with new shorts. There is nothing against policy with plain black shorts. It is not specific enough and I will have a copy on hand any time they would like to challenge it. It is in writing and you can not change it as you go along to fit the needs of those who make it up.

You are right.

I hope that school board members and district level officials will be out and about in the first months of school checking on how this is working at the school level.

Yes I agree as the majority of elligible voters no longer exercise the right and honor to vote.

But rile them up enough and perhaps they will!

Default Vote no to uniforms

The Board should not be given Credit for doing something that was not wanted 4 years ago to the point that they were forced to take it back after an uproar of dissension. This policy is wrong and the Board members who voted for this should GO, IMO. I will be voting them out and I think a movement should be started to do just that.
